Scanning

Here at Lotuscolor a lifetime of photo printing experience goes into each scan. To us scanning is an art and we believe that for a professional result you need a professional scan.

We are often asked what the difference is between our high resolution Drum scans and what can be produced on a flatbed or dedicated CCD scanner. Without getting too technical, the Drum scanner is capable of capturing more colors over a wider range of densities at true resolution. This better more accurate scan is a commercial safeguard for you whether your on assignment or putting your best foot forward with your portfolio.

We exercise great care with your film and our Drum scans are all fluid mounted as cleanly as possible. As all professional photographers know, even with careful handling dust and scratches are an inevitable part of the life of film. Unless you indicate otherwise, We remove all dust and scratches from your scan at no additional charge. (Some exceptions might apply.)

All Drum scans are made with a default minimum of hardware sharpening unless otherwise requested.

All color scans are made into the Adobe 1998 RGB colorspace, unless otherwise specified.
